Happy New Year!

Last night, as I watched the girls, ages 8 and 10, trying hard to keep their eyes open, while we live-streamed the earth cam of Times Square and all its midnight hoopla, I started thinking that people make an awful big deal about turning the calender page. I started to wonder if it was really worth it, even as I ran out into the street to bang pots and pans. Then this morning, I read this post by my smart friend, Hecate, and she reminds me that, yes, it is worth it. Go, read.

As with other new beginnings, I love to pull a tarot card.

Child of Water

Your feelings are close to the surface now, and you may feel overwhelmed by them, both good and bad. You may feel close to tears much of the time, and not be sure if they are tears of joy or sorrow. The waters of emotion wash over you, and you are learning anew to handle them, as a child learns control. Don't focus on control, however. Walk willingly into the sea of emotions, swim in its deep mysterious waters... experience each moment fully... embrace the beauty of a full and open heart.

I chose the above card with my eyes closed.

Thank you to Lunaea for her amazing online Full Moon Dreams Tarot. A wonderful place to visit on this first day of the new decade. May this be a good year for all of us.

This is the card I chose with my eyes open.
