What's In-A Name?

Sometime ago, I was making a comment at one of my favorite blogs that started out, "In the Ina Universe..." A smart friend there who goes by the nym doncjesuis, immediately saw the elegance of "Inaverse," and so inaverse was born.

Before I claimed the nym for myself, I googled to make sure no one else was already using it. No one was, so I started a blog with that name. I also made it my facebook address and later, my twitter name. A couple months later when I thought I might want to post music under that name, I tried to set up a myspace page, but it turns out, somebody had just barely beat me to it.

Today, when I googled "inaverse" again to get the myspace link, I see that somebody else has just started a wordpress blog, and they get inaverse.com as their address.

What is this urge I have to be the only inaverse in cyberspace?

How do you feel about your name(s), cyber or meat?

Peace.

The Garden this morning

lupines

the main garden

The baby plants went in yesterday in the extreme heat. Then last night there was an amazing storm with lots of lightning, thunder, rain and wind. Everything in the garden seems to have survived (though one of the young peach trees tipped over & I propped it up).

So basil, eggplant, tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet peppers, hot peppers, and watermelons, have joined the garlic, potatoes, peas, beets, carrots, leeks, and assorted greens and herbs. Also happily growing are peaches, pears, and blueberries. Have I forgotten anything? Time to get back outside.

Peace.

Life's a Beach

It has been so hot here lately, the girls and I have been going swimming everyday after school. When we got to the beach the other day, I saw this woman laying there with as much of her body in the water without actually being all the way in. She had her coffee cup and her cell phone and lovely red lipstick. Later, I think she even had a cigarette, though I might've dreamt that part.

I just thought she was the perfect image of this heat, so I asked if I could take her picture. She said yes, then delightedly told the story to whoever she was talking to on the phone.

Stay cool.

Grapes of Wrath

Last year I planted a tiny grape plant to complement the concord grape volunteers growing in the garden. This year, that little baby plant has grown and it actually has teeny tiny grapes on it.

Now for the bad news: I took this photograph 5 May, and since then, something seems to be eating the grapes.

Oh well, it's all an experiment.

Where's Ina?

I haven't figured out how to upload (download?) pictures onto the new computer yet, and this is making it tough for me to blog. The girls and I are having fun with the built in camera, though.

Peace.
